Queercore: How to Punk a Revolution

Sprouting in 1985 with the first edition of the fanzine J.D.s, founded by the artist and filmmaker J.B. Jones, and the filmmaker Bruce LaBruce in Toronto, the queercore or homocore took a redeeming amplitude for a good deal of homosexuals who did not find themselves in the establishes gay and lesbian community. Their thing, is the brutality and the vulgarity of hardcore punk, in place of the colourful and sugary disco atmosphere. Yony Leyser ("William S.
