Newcomers on the dynamic Brussels underground scene, the Lemones — Maarten Raskin, Steven Bertels and Paul Boudeau — describe their music as “nasty, gripping noise while screaming poetic thoughts”. Performing in the middle of the audience, the trio plays a brutal and primitive anti-rock, on with homemade instruments — a guitar, a bass an drums, all in the shape of… lemons. Their performances take at once absurd and chaotic turns, recalling no wave and dadaism, although Lemones’ style cannot be reduced to these two artistic movements.
