Méryll Ampe

Sounds sculpted in direct carving, immediate encounter: Méryll Ampe weaves links between her musical and visual practice. She sculpts different sound sources leading to a large spectrum. Acoustic material is captured in her everyday environment and modified, then complemented with analogue and electronic tools. She plays with notions of long take, presence, dynamics and its volumes. Her interest in improvisation relies on playing with space and the unexpected, seizing the energy of a sound presence, a physicality.
